Behavior Technician

Serving as a member of the Illinois Crisis Prevention – Support Service Team, this position provides support to be people requiring intense behavioral support in their home. The schedule for this position is variable and may include days and evenings Monday thru Friday. The position will involve some travel. Great team environment and training provided. 

Behavior Technician Job Duties:

• Work in collaboration with clinical team on case navigation based on the person’s supported needs.
• Run Positive Support Behavior Plans with the goal to decrease maladaptive behaviors and increase skill acquisition.
• Assess the environment and provide feedback to the team on possible barriers.
• Build a rapport, provide on the spot training, and collect data.
• Provide support in numerous community programs in assigned catchment area.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Flexible thinking and adaptability to meet unique and diverse needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a personal support worker, direct support professional, paraprofessional, or registered behavior technician (RBT).
• Experience serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Illinois Crisis Prevention Network (ICPN) is the result of a collaborative relationship between Hope and Trinity Services, Inc. ICPN is designed to meet the behavioral and medical needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are experiencing significant behavioral and medical challenges. The ICPN consists of six statewide Support Service Teams who provide community-based support and consultation services to the person experiencing these challenges, as well as their family and or service providers.
